Scenesters = Trekkies theory 12-12-2003

This applies to any scene, Mod, rocker, punk, hardcore etc. I will use mods for this example though.

you have star trek…

1. you have people that don’t watch it.

2. you have people that don’t watch it and make fun of trekkies.

3. you have people that watch it enjoy it for what it is, and leave it at that, but appreciate it on a clear-minded level

4. you have people that watch it and deny they watch it

5. you have the trekkies that take it way too seriously, make it their life, go to conventions, buy the dvds and spock ears and action figures it, buy all the product obsessively.

Now lets do it with a Britpop scenester:

you have the Britpop music genre…

1. you have people that don’t listen to it.

2. you have people that don’t listen to it and make fun of the scensters.

3. you have people that listen to it enjoy it for what it is, and leave it at that, but appreciate it on a clear-minded level

4. you have people that listen to it and deny they listen to it

5. you have the scensters that take it way too seriously, make it their life, go to shows, buy the cds, the hip clothes, the concert tee shirt, the scarf and get the haircut.

now…MODS and trekkies are EXACTLY the same…the only reason MODS cannot see it is…

…scarfs, go-go boots, and mod haircuts look cooler then fake plastic spock ears
