These are designs for a fictional Client as a part of First ROI’s skill assessment.
They asked me to design a homepage for the fictional company State University Credit Union. While i do not consider myself a web designer, I can and have worked on a design team to come up with web page “looks”.
Below are the concepts I submitted:
Concept 1
In this design I chose to clip out the excited young man, add a glow to him and incorporate a grid and some squares on a money colored background. This design I feel merges a financial look with a modern style of design.
I think there are some good flash possibilities upon loading with the squares and grid. Colors and fonts can be easily changed
to present another option to the client.
Concept 2
In this design I leave the entire couple and background but use a completely opposite color scheme in order to take the client in a totally different direction, this design could certainly be one they NIX, allowing the client feel like a part of the creative process.
It can also jump start dialogue of “I like this about the first one, but I like that about the 2nd design…can we merge? And of course, we certainly can. Again, colors and fonts can be easily changed to present another option to the client.
Concept 3
In this design we show that even though they could only provide us with their logo and a black and white photo it does not mean we can’t be creative. I colorized the photo in a fun vintage style.
I could see maybe a black and white flash intro that becomes colored and the support copy maybe reflect this idea, maybe a draw back to “the good old days” and 1950s style pricing.
Concept 4
In this design we show a new color scheme and another modern financial design style. There are a few flash loading possibilities that can happen here. Color schemes and image can change from section to section upon clicking.
Concept 5
In this design we take a conservative yet modern approach, further showing the client how we can stretch the possibilities of their photo with just some graphics and clean effects. Color schemes, graphics placement can change up clicking the different sections
Concept 6
In this design we take the client in yet another direction explaining how somtimes simplicity is best to grab ones attention.
The limited use of color, high contrast on plain white background, supported with clever copy can be most effetive when done using basic design and marketing fundamentals.
